This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Design and develop cloud-native data services utilizing contemporary microservices architectures.
• Create and manage semantic data products that leverage knowledge graphs, metadata, and data contracts, adhering to a data-centric methodology.
• Work with tools such as dbt, Trino, or Dremio in a cloud-native setting.
• Maintain data quality, observability, and governance across data products.
• Integrate data platforms into current enterprise architectures.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Knowledge Engineers, and AI Engineers to execute data-driven use cases.
• Contribute to the development of data-centric development standards and best practices.
• Utilize the most recent frameworks and products in the data and cloud-native sectors.
• Engage with both existing and potential customers within a Community of Practice.
• Work alongside Project Leads, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Security Engineers, Operations Teams, and Test Teams.
• Proficient in German, both in writing and speaking (C1 level).
• Strong command of English.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in data-related projects.
• Proven experience in programming data pipelines and integration services.
• Familiarity with REST, OpenAPI, Kafka, AsyncAPI, and API testing.
• Experience in developing microservices within a cloud-native environment.
• Knowledge of Spring Boot, Quarkus, or similar microservices frameworks.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and AWS.
• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases (SQL, NoSQL, and graph databases).
• Comprehension of data architecture and data engineering principles.
• Knowledge of data-centric architecture, data products, event-driven architectures, ETL/ELT, and data pipelines.
• Ideally, some exposure to semantic technologies such as graph databases, RDF, and SPARQL.
• Understanding of security, privacy, and governance issues in data-driven systems.
• Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking capabilities, and a self-directed working style.
