This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of the CPQ capability roadmap and the multi-quarter business capability strategy in collaboration with the Senior Product Manager.
• Establish the product-area vision, success metrics, prioritization, business cases, and KPIs.
• Participate in the evaluation, design, phased implementation, and migration from the existing CPQ to Salesforce Revenue Cloud.
• Manage, prioritize, and refine the CPQ product backlog, addressing enhancements, defects, technical debt, and roadmap initiatives.
• Develop clear, testable user stories that include acceptance criteria, functional details, and edge-case considerations.
• Facilitate sprint grooming, planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives with the offshore Salesforce development team.
• Clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, accept or reject completed work, and oversee release scope and readiness.
• Handle delivery risks and relay progress, obstacles, and changes to stakeholders and IT leadership.
• Act as the senior functional subject matter expert for Salesforce CPQ.
• Spearhead complex CPQ solution design, encompassing data model implications, automation strategies, and integration points.
• Document and redesign Quote-to-Cash processes to minimize friction and manual intervention.
• Promote scalable configurations and reduce CPQ technical debt.
• Collaborate with Deal Desk, Sales Operations, and Finance on pricing governance, approval hierarchies, and ensuring quote accuracy.
• Coordinate the downstream impacts on order management, provisioning, billing, and ERP systems.
• Lead discovery and design sessions, converting business requirements into functional designs and high-level technical specifications.
• Negotiate scope, sequencing, timelines, and prioritization trade-offs with stakeholders.
• Serve as a trusted CPQ contact across Sales, Channel, Sales Operations, Marketing, and Finance.
• Represent CPQ in cross-functional planning, architecture, and governance discussions.
• Mentor junior product owners and analysts while enhancing team standards for requirements, solution design, and release management.
• 8-12 years of experience in IT business systems, business analysis, or product ownership related to enterprise applications.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ (Steelbrick), Salesforce Revenue Cloud (RCA), and/or Apttus/Conga CPQ.
• 4+ years of working knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud, including core data models, opportunity management, and declarative configuration.
• 4+ years as a Product Owner or equivalent role in an agile/scrum environment, with complete ownership of the backlog and roadmap for a product area.
• Proven experience in delivering complex Quote-to-Cash or CPQ solutions in multi-product, subscription, or channel-intensive settings.
• Experience in leading offshore or distributed development teams through consistent sprint delivery.
• Experience mentoring or informally guiding other product owners, analysts, or administrators.
• Exposure to a CPQ platform implementation, migration, or significant re-architecture is preferred.
• Extensive understanding of CPQ concepts, including product rules, pricing models, discounting, approval matrices, quote document generation, contracting, amendments, renewals, and order creation.
• Capability to independently oversee a product area, set direction, make prioritization decisions, and take responsibility for outcomes.
• Exceptional skills in requirements gathering and documentation.
• Strong analytical judgment concerning configuration, data, automation, and processes.
• Excellent communication and influencing abilities with senior business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Bachelor's degree (4-year) in a technical or business field is required.
• Salesforce certifications are strongly preferred: CPQ Specialist, Administrator, Sales Cloud Consultant, and/or Revenue Cloud.
