This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design and implement Ultrasound AI products in collaboration with clinicians, machine learning engineers, software engineers, and product designers.

• Expand existing thyroid and breast ultrasound AI products from serving hundreds of thousands of patients each year to millions.

• Lead the discovery and development phases for new ultrasound AI products.

• Translate insights from clinical, customer, commercial, and AI model performance into clear product priorities.

• Play a key role in shaping product strategy and execution for both current and new products.

• Grasp clinical workflows to differentiate between expressed customer requests and the underlying clinical needs and problems.

• Make informed decisions on what to develop, delay, or discontinue based on evidence and sound judgment.

• Enhance existing products utilizing customer feedback and market intelligence.

• Take ownership of discovery and validation for new ultrasound opportunities and lead cross-functional teams from discovery through to launch and outcomes.

• Establish a knowledge repository for stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

• Be accountable for the rationale behind product decisions and collaborate with engineering and design teams on their implementation.

• Clearly communicate decisions across distributed teams through high-quality asynchronous documentation.

• Convert clinical and product challenges into actionable tasks for machine learning engineers.

• Assist in defining model performance metrics that reflect customer value of products.

• Balance factors such as accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, false positives, and false negatives, alongside workflow, speed, and cost considerations.

• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams on customer engagement, product positioning, and execution of go-to-market strategies.

• Work alongside quality assurance and regulatory teams while adhering to medical device and regulatory standards.

• Foster relationships across engineering, design, clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams.

• Influence through evidence and effective communication, mentor peers on product practices and decision-making quality, and manage priorities across multiple products transparently.

• Maintain a typical 9-hour workday with flexibility to accommodate later Pacific Time hours for collaboration with the Melbourne-based team.

• Travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience (Required).

• 8+ years of experience as a product manager, product engineer, designer who has led product decisions and execution, or founder leading product (Required).

• Proven track record of delivering successful software products from inception to completion, with measurable outcomes post-launch (Required).

• Strong product judgment and experience in making evidence-based decisions, including hypothesis formulation and testing when evidence is lacking (Required).

• Familiarity with machine learning concepts, including understanding the implications of asymmetric error costs such as false positives and false negatives (Required).

• Experience in user research, cross-functional delivery, and commercial or customer-facing roles (Required).

• High degree of autonomy, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate asynchronously across different time zones (Required).

• Practical experience with AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT Work, or Claude Cowork, with proven successful applications in current roles (Preferred).

• Hands-on experience in software engineering, coding, or design contributions (Preferred).

• Experience in regulated industries and/or the medical domain (Preferred).

• Ability to adhere to employment laws, company policies, data privacy, compliance, safety, and confidentiality standards.

• Consistent punctual attendance and capacity to fulfill responsibilities efficiently and effectively.

• Capability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
