This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Collaborate with clinicians, machine learning engineers, software engineers, and product designers to shape and deliver Ultrasound AI products.
• Scale existing thyroid and breast ultrasound AI products from serving hundreds of thousands of patients annually to millions.
• Conduct discovery and development for innovative ultrasound AI products.
• Transform insights from clinical, customer, commercial, and AI model performance into clear priorities.
• Play a key role in product strategy and execution for both in-market scaling products and new offerings.
• Comprehend clinical workflows and differentiate between articulated customer requests and genuine clinical needs.
• Utilize evidence and judgment to determine what to develop, postpone, or discontinue.
• Enhance existing products by leveraging customer feedback and market intelligence.
• Lead the discovery and validation of new ultrasound opportunities and guide cross-functional teams through launch and outcomes.
• Establish a knowledge base for stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
• Own the rationale behind product decisions and collaborate with engineering and design teams on implementation.
• Effectively communicate decisions across distributed teams through high-quality asynchronous documentation.
• Translate clinical and product challenges into actionable tasks for machine learning engineers.
• Assist in defining model performance metrics that reflect customer product value and navigate trade-offs among accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, error types, workflow, speed, and cost.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams on customer interactions, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
• Work alongside quality assurance and regulatory teams while adhering to medical-device and regulatory constraints.
• Foster relationships across engineering, design, clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams, mentoring others in product practices and decision-making quality.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. (Required)
• 8+ years of experience as a product manager, product engineer, designer who has led product decisions and execution, or a founder guiding product development. (Required)
• Proven history of successfully shipping software products from start to finish, with measurable results post-launch. (Required)
• Sound product judgment and experience in making evidence-based decisions, including forming and testing hypotheses when information is limited. (Required)
• Familiarity with machine learning, including an understanding of asymmetric error costs (for instance, the implications of a false positive compared to a false negative). (Required)
• Experience in user research, cross-functional delivery, and commercial or customer-facing roles. (Required)
• High level of autonomy, clear communication skills, and effective asynchronous collaboration across different time zones. (Required)
• Practical proficiency with AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT Work, or Claude Cowork, with proven successful applications in the current role. (Preferred)
• Experience in software engineering, hands-on coding, or design contributions. (Preferred)
• Background in regulated industries or medical domain product experience. (Preferred)
• Must adhere to data privacy, compliance, safety, and confidentiality standards.
• Must be capable of occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds.
