
Senior Product Manager, Tenant Scale

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the product strategy for tenant-scale and unified deployment functionalities across GitLab.com, Dedicated, and upcoming deployment models, transitioning this initiative from idea to a deployable model that teams can utilize within your first year.
• Establish the requirements for our unified deployment platform, detailing the necessary capabilities prior to hosting tenants in a unified deployment unit.
• Collaborate closely with engineering partners and highly technical teams to transform infrastructure limitations and platform requirements into a clear product vision.
• Work together with product colleagues across the platforms organization, including teams focused on GitLab.com and related infrastructure sectors.
• Interact with both internal and external customers to comprehend their needs concerning isolation, regional deployment, compliance, and operational readiness.
• Conduct discussions on trade-offs regarding scalability, tenant encapsulation, deployment consistency, and platform unification.
• Convert intricate technical concepts into product strategies, priorities, and documentation that align distributed teams on delivery timelines for tenant mobility and platform unification.
• Foster a collaborative team environment where product managers share responsibilities across a common workload and engage in areas where they can make the most significant impact.
• Proven experience managing product initiatives in technical fields such as infrastructure, scalability, platform architecture, software delivery, or cloud services.
• Capacity to effectively engage with highly technical engineering teams and establish credibility in discussions regarding system design, deployment models, and platform limitations.
• Understanding of how SaaS or platform-based systems scale, including principles like multitenancy, horizontal scalability, autoscaling, workload isolation, and production readiness.
• Comfort in collaborating with customers or internal stakeholders on intricate requirements, including operational, compliance, or regional deployment considerations.
• Proficiency in transforming vague technical challenges into clear product strategies, priorities, and actionable roadmaps.
• Experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, user experience, and other cross-functional partners in a distributed setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when articulating complex infrastructure topics to various audiences.
• Willingness to consider candidates with transferable experience from engineering, technical support, or related product roles pertinent to large-scale platforms.
