Senior Product Manager – Reconciliation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Mercury’s reconciliation platform, including efforts that support Mercury’s bank charter.

• Collaborate with engineers to comprehend financial data flows, schemas, transformations, dependencies, and potential failure modes.

• Work together with Product, Accounting, Finance, and Reconciliation Operations to establish priorities and deliverables.

• Enhance and streamline the reconciliation platform, facilitating unified systems and tooling throughout the organization.

• Create tools for detecting discrepancies, understanding their causes, resolving issues, and ensuring accurate reporting.

• Organize a cross-functional problem space while addressing immediate operational requirements alongside long-term platform advantages.

• Acquire in-depth knowledge of Mercury’s money movement and accounting systems, making informed product and technical trade-offs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of product management experience within technical platforms, infrastructure, data products, or other similarly complex systems.

• Strong systems thinking skills, favoring reusable components and sustainable platform solutions over temporary fixes.

• Proven track record of independently navigating ambiguous tasks from problem identification to successful delivery.

• Outstanding cross-functional collaboration abilities and thoughtful prioritization skills.

• Capacity to operate at both near-term execution and long-term platform strategy levels.

• Dedication to accuracy, reliability, and the integrity of internal systems.

• Experience with audits, financial controls, or regulatory requirements would be particularly advantageous.

• Background in payments, ledgers, accounting, financial operations, or data infrastructure would be especially beneficial.

• Experience with internal platforms catering to multiple downstream teams would be particularly useful.

• Previous reconciliation experience is not a prerequisite.
