This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Determine the most significant factors contributing to payment failures and spearhead solutions that enhance payment success and borrower results.
• Enhance comprehension of an individual borrower's repayment capability by thoughtfully utilizing third-party data sources.
• Develop a scalable Payments platform for various teams within Upstart.
• Balance immediate business effects with long-term investments in reusable platform components.
• Make decisions on where to iterate, manage technical debt, or create new solutions from the ground up.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Design, Compliance, and product leaders throughout Servicing.
• Establish priorities, success metrics, and a roadmap that links platform leverage to borrower and business results.
• Recognize opportunities that extend beyond the immediate requirements of stakeholders.
• Over 5 years of product management experience responsible for strategy, roadmap, metrics, and delivery for a technical, transactional, or customer-facing product.
• Background in payments, money movement, loan servicing, billing, or a similar financial product.
• Proficient in employing quantitative analysis to identify product issues, assess trade-offs, and inform product decisions.
• Experience collaborating with Engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver products, systems, or platform functionalities.
• History of building or scaling a platform utilized by internal product or engineering teams (preferred).
• Experience in leveraging existing systems to generate business impact (preferred).
• Background in consumer finance, fintech, or another regulated industry (preferred).
• Familiarity with working alongside Machine Learning (preferred).
• Ability to balance short-term customer or business outcomes with long-term platform investment (preferred).
• Knowledge of utilizing GenAI thoughtfully to enhance product development, decision-making, or customer experiences (preferred).
