Senior Product Manager, IT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +35 more states.

📋 Description

• Establish and take responsibility for the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for designated IT platforms.

• Convert business requirements and technical limitations into product specifications, user stories, and prioritized backlogs.

• Guide product planning and prioritization by utilizing data, stakeholder feedback, and business value considerations.

• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, security, operations, vendor partners, and business subject matter experts to ensure timely and budget-compliant releases.

• Serve as the product owner within Agile delivery teams, clarifying project scope, accepting deliverables, managing sprint priorities, and eliminating obstacles.

• Promote product adoption and manage change through stakeholder engagement, communication strategies, training plans, and performance measurement.

• Establish and track product success metrics, providing performance reports to leadership.

• Oversee vendor relationships and manage third-party product lifecycles, which includes defining requirements, handling RFPs, ensuring contract alignment, and conducting performance assessments.

• Confirm that product designs adhere to security, compliance, privacy, and accessibility standards.

• Participate in risk mitigation activities.

• Provide mentorship and coaching to junior product managers.

• Contribute to the advancement of product management best practices and governance across the IT sector.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Over 5 years of product management experience in IT or technology-focused environments.

• Proven ownership experience of enterprise IT products or platforms.

• A demonstrated record of delivering complex IT initiatives involving multiple stakeholders from discovery to production.

• Strong comprehension of the software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and contemporary cloud-native architectures.

• Experience collaborating with engineering, architecture, and security teams, translating technical concepts for business stakeholders.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal abilities.

• Skills in data-driven decision-making; experience in defining and monitoring KPIs and utilizing analytics for prioritization.

• An advanced degree or relevant certifications are preferred.

• Familiarity with identity/access management, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), integration platforms, IT service management (ITSM), or enterprise data platforms is preferred.

• Understanding of SOC2, ISO27001, and GDPR guidelines is preferred.

• Prior experience in a regulated industry or within a large global corporation is preferred.

• Technical literacy for discussions related to architecture and engineering.

• Skills in negotiation and vendor management.

• Ability to influence without direct authority and foster consensus.

• A problem-solving mindset and comfort with ambiguity.

• Empathy for end users and a focus on delivering measurable value.
