This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Design solutions that fulfill customer business objectives across hardware, software, services, as-a-service offerings, and third-party components.
• Create and clearly present customer proposals that are accurate and relevant.
• Ensure that customer business and technical requirements are satisfied.
• Offer technical expertise to sales teams and customers via presentations and product or solution demonstrations.
• Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of solution domains, products, services, solutions, and customer environments.
• Evaluate proposals and manage expectations of internal stakeholders and customers.
• Quantify business challenges and articulate business value.
• Identify the strengths and weaknesses of proposed solutions.
• Provide insights to global business units regarding IT trends, requirements, gaps, and unmet needs.
• Convert outcome-based solutions into functional designs and scalable technical architectures.
• Communicate the value propositions of solutions to customers.
• Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Contribute to industry progress through conferences, presentations, demonstrations, booth support, and industry events.
• Gather and utilize competitive intelligence.
• Drive account business planning initiatives.
• Engage in detailed discussions and present technical transformation strategies.
• Produce comparative analyses of different approaches.
• Develop, configure, and properly size workload solutions.
• Utilize partner products and services to enhance solutions.
• Share knowledge with external partners.
• Build the account pipeline through enhancements, up-selling, and cross-selling opportunities.
• Monitor account pipelines and cultivate deals from opportunity to closure.
• Take part in sales forecasting meetings.
• Document activities within the sales cycle and share best practices.
• Establish relationships with customer executives.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and mentor junior team members.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Over 50% travel is necessary.
• At least 6 years of experience working with or supporting the Federal Sector in DOD.
• Minimum of 6 years of technical IT experience focused on technical consulting and solution selling.
• Practical technical IT experience in system and network administration, data center operations, and enterprise infrastructure management.
• Ability to leverage technical expertise to architect, configure, and demonstrate solutions that meet DoD mission requirements.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and project management methodologies and certifications is beneficial but not essential.
• Proven ability to balance technical rigor with practical implementation.
• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and driven by contributing to organizational success.
• First-level university technical degree or equivalent technical qualifications.
• An advanced degree in technology is preferred.
• Candidates from California must reside within a 2-hour drive of San Diego.
• Significant experience in leading solution configurations and creating demos and proofs-of-concept.
• Strong understanding of company products, software, services, solution domains, and ecosystem combinations.
• Ability to effectively translate aaS, ecosystems, solutions, and workloads into customer outcomes.
• Advanced knowledge of various aaS business model variations.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in English and any applicable local languages as required.
• Advanced discussion and persuasion abilities.
• Solid business and financial acumen, covering sales cycles, pipeline growth, reporting, business strategy, TCO/ROI concepts, and financial models.
• Proficient consultative/value selling skills, including whiteboarding, objection handling, and closing techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of company business operations, technical tools, and CRM systems.
• Advanced resource management capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with relevant products, solutions, tools, or services.
• Ability to design demonstration and walkthrough playbooks.
• Capacity to deliver live demonstrations and walkthroughs.
• Advanced project and time management knowledge or experience.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced understanding of partner offerings and go-to-market strategies.
• Expertise in strategic and account planning.
• Proficient in using business, technical, and CRM tools.
