Senior Product Manager, Data & AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the product roadmap and set priorities across data engineering, data science, backend, search, and frontend teams.

• Lead the discovery process with clients and internal stakeholders utilizing prototypes, demos, and functional software.

• Convert business requirements into product specifications, user stories, business rules, and quantifiable acceptance criteria.

• Establish requirements for document processing, alerts, scoring, evidence presentation, search, review workflows, and source traceability.

• Collaborate with data scientists to determine evaluation datasets, model metrics, confidence thresholds, and acceptable rates of false positives and false negatives.

• Work alongside data engineers on ingestion, normalization, metadata, lineage, processing completeness, and data quality specifications.

• Diagnose the origin of product issues, whether they arise from the UI, data, model, pipeline, search, thresholds, or business rules.

• Focus on reusable platform capabilities rather than limited, one-off customizations for clients.

• Manage release readiness, client demonstrations, and structured feedback gathering.

• Evaluate product performance based on accuracy, completeness, reviewer effort, latency, reliability, adoption, and cost.

• Clearly communicate priorities, trade-offs, limitations, and delivery expectations to both clients and internal teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in senior product management, particularly in delivering AI/ML, data-intensive, search, or workflow products.

• Proven ability to prioritize tasks across various engineering disciplines, including data, ML, backend, and frontend.

• A track record of successful prototype- or demo-driven product discovery.

• Capacity to translate business needs into comprehensive, technical, and testable specifications.

• Experience in defining measurable acceptance criteria for probabilistic features such as model outputs, alerts, recommendations, or rankings.

• Strong knowledge of data pipelines, APIs, data quality, system dependencies, and model behavior.

• Experience collaborating closely with data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, and UX teams.

• Excellent skills in stakeholder management, facilitation, written communication, and decision-making.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States and have resided in the US for three or more consecutive years.

• Must be willing and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
