Senior Product Manager – Business Lending

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Take ownership of the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Mercury's business lending product portfolio.

β€’ Oversee the complete customer journey β€” from eligibility and discovery through application, underwriting and decision-making, funding, servicing, and repayment.

β€’ Collaborate with risk and data science teams to create underwriting and decision-making experiences that effectively balance speed and approval rates with robust credit and compliance controls.

β€’ Work alongside design and engineering to ensure the application appears seamless, transparent, and trustworthy for business owners.

β€’ Engage with banking partners, legal, and compliance teams to guarantee that the product adheres to regulatory standards and is operationally sound.

β€’ Identify and measure key metrics: conversion rates, approval and decline rates, time-to-funding, loss performance, repayment health, and customer satisfaction β€” and utilize these to prioritize initiatives.

β€’ Leverage customer insights, market research, and data to determine future development priorities, making clear trade-offs between scope, risk, and speed.

β€’ Collaborate with marketing, sales, and support teams to launch the product effectively and ensure it reaches the right customers at the optimal time.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A minimum of 7 years of product management or related experience, including at least 2 years in lending, credit, payments, or another regulated financial sector.

β€’ Proven experience in building and scaling lending operations.

β€’ A solid understanding of the lending lifecycle: origination, underwriting, servicing, and repayment, alongside the associated risk and compliance factors.

β€’ Demonstrated ability to deliver AI-driven and iterative customer-facing products that address genuine user challenges.

β€’ Technical proficiency: ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and data scientists while simplifying complex concepts for business, risk, and compliance stakeholders.

β€’ Strong customer empathy combined with the discipline to balance growth with credit, compliance, and operational realities.

β€’ A history of utilizing data and experimentation to inform decisions and achieve measurable results.

β€’ Comfort in navigating ambiguity and providing direction in a rapidly evolving, greenfield product environment.
