Senior Product Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary technical contributor for the team.

• Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to define the technical vision and ensure high-quality delivery.

• Balance direct involvement in projects with providing technical leadership.

• Serve as the primary resource for technical decisions and architecture within the team's scope.

• Advocate for the team's technical initiatives beyond its immediate environment.

• Influence the team's technical roadmap, strategy, and architectural vision.

• Ensure code quality, testing, reliability, performance, and engineering standards are upheld across the team.

• Lead technical planning, discovery, solution design, and decision-making processes.

• Promote cross-team technical collaboration and engage in engineering-wide projects.

• Function as a technical liaison.

• Mentor and nurture engineers at various levels within and outside the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in guiding technical direction, making architectural choices, and addressing complex engineering challenges.

• In-depth knowledge of software engineering, architecture, testing, reliability, performance, and the design of maintainable systems.

• Capability to align technical choices with customer and business objectives while balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term technical sustainability.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build consensus, influence across teams, and articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Proven history of developing engineers, collaborating effectively with Engineering Managers and broader engineering communities, and fostering a culture of learning and excellence.

• Proficiency in several of the specified technologies and a willingness to learn as necessary.

• Familiarity with AWS and GCP.

• Proficient in Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

• Experience with Vue.js, Django Rest Framework, container-based architectures, and serverless solutions.

• Knowledge of MongoDB and DynamoDB.

• Experience with CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Celery, EventBridge, and DataDog.
