This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of DuckDuckGo’s design system and establish its roadmap from inception.
• Evaluate the current design system.
• Lead design-system initiatives across various platforms and products, including Duck.ai and Search.
• Develop processes for managing and expanding the design system.
• Independently manage high-impact projects that cater to millions of users.
• Work collaboratively with team members at all levels to create privacy-centered solutions.
• Analyze complex problems, suggest impactful solutions, and execute based on established success criteria.
• Influence product-related design decisions.
• Convey visual and interaction recommendations through mockups, prototypes, documentation, metrics, and reasoning.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to create unified workflows and terminology.
• Over 7 years of experience in product or design systems roles.
• More than 2 years in senior design positions at notable global consumer brands.
• Proven history of developing and scaling intricate and well-established systems.
• Capability to lead design-system evaluations, suggest solutions, and plan implementations.
• Proficient in communicating recommendations and prioritizations with well-defined documentation, success metrics, resources, and justifications.
• Skilled at creating scalable frameworks, including tokens and libraries, across different platforms and teams.
• Extensive knowledge of design tools like Figma.
• Experience in bridging design and engineering practices, including shared terminology and workflows.
• Familiarity with applying agentic and AI-driven solutions to design-system management and maintenance processes.
• Competent in producing high-quality mockups, prototypes, and justifications.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, propose innovative solutions, and execute with a focus on metrics.
• Required to participate in meetings on camera through video conferencing.
• Average full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.
• Must successfully pass a background check as a prerequisite for joining.
