Senior Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of a product area throughout various releases and manage a system component, prototype, or tool utilized by other designers.

• Create functional prototypes using actual components and data to validate concepts and align product and engineering teams.

• Choose research that will impact decision-making, synthesize findings, and provide actionable recommendations.

• Establish metrics prior to development and monitor results, adjusting strategies as necessary.

• Set quality benchmarks that encompass error handling, empty states, responsive design, WCAG 2.0 AA compliance, and uniform patterns.

• Present debated recommendations to senior stakeholders and facilitate decision-making.

• Elevate standards through design evaluations, mentorship, and hands-on contributions.

• Work collaboratively with product managers, engineers, and other designers throughout the comprehensive design process.

• Transform intricate requirements into intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing experiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing a product area across multiple releases, supported by a portfolio that showcases product acumen.

• Strong expertise in UX and visual design, with one specific area of exceptional proficiency.

• Experience building with AI and delivering products that others depend on.

• Proficient in prototyping using code or AI tools.

• Comprehend how components and data inform design choices.

• Recognize when a design incurs high costs.

• Familiarity with working with complex data, permissions, regulated environments, and information-dense interfaces.

• Capability to engage in constructive disagreement and adjust viewpoints based on evidence.

• Experience in fintech, wealth management, or another regulated field (preferred).

• Background in taking products from concept to launch (preferred).

• History of building a design system or a significant component of one (preferred).

• Background in front-end development or design engineering (preferred).
