This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Create intuitive, effective, and engaging interfaces for applications on mobile, tablet, and desktop platforms.
• Quickly prototype and iterate on various design solutions.
• Develop user interface design documents that outline the desired user experience.
• Assess user needs and gather user feedback.
• Execute user research activities and analyze task flows.
• Transform research findings into actionable recommendations and results.
• Share user insights, data, and best practices with the team.
• Test and refine design choices based on user feedback and analytical data.
• Collaborate with business units and application development teams.
• Champion user advocacy and understand audience interactions with applications.
• Promote best practices in user experience.
• Work alongside customers and internal team members to validate design concepts.
• Provide support and documentation to uphold application usability standards.
• Act as a subject matter expert and establish standards, best practices, and workflows.
• Keep updated on the latest user-centered design practices, trends, and methodologies.
• Collaborate closely with the Digital Implementation Lead and Digital Experience team to align customer needs, business objectives, and product strategy into digital solutions.
• Engage in projects from start to finish, including research, testing, concept development, prototyping, UI copywriting, developer support, and compliance with UI standards.
• Share knowledge with team members to enhance UX maturity and participate in integrating AI tools into workflows.
• Primarily design for the health insurance portal and app utilized by members nationwide.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or 4 years of related work experience, or an Associate's degree with 2 years of related work experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in user interface design.
• Preferred 7 years of experience.
• Over 2 years of experience designing transactional consumer-facing products in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated domain is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with a product owner and diverse stakeholders to define complex business requirements within legacy technical frameworks.
• Proficient in delivering high-quality Figma mockups and prototypes, including responsive layouts, conditional states, documentation, and accessibility criteria.
• Experience in mentoring and reviewing the work of other designers.
• Experience in conducting UX research and usability testing.
• Ability to write user-centered UI copy.
• Strong technical knowledge of UX and usability best practices and methodologies.
• Solid understanding of page layout and interface design principles.
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS and optimizing design concepts around these technologies.
• Knowledge of graphic design and typography.
• Advanced analytical and research capabilities.
• Ability to interpret data and provide informed recommendations.
• Strong conceptual problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in graphic design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts during business hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Finalists are required to complete a brief, on-camera design exercise.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with both technical and business teams.
