Senior Product Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Convert US GAAP, IFRS, GASB, and relevant international standards into software specifications, illustrative scenarios, and testing criteria.

• Investigate unclear accounting inquiries and document the findings.

• Keep abreast of publications and new guidelines from FASB, IASB, the FRC, GASB, and accounting firms.

• Provide updates to Product and leadership regarding new accounting guidelines.

• Create example scenarios, documentation for edge cases, and requirements for novel product domains.

• Leverage large language models to enhance research, draft documentation, and assess interpretations.

• Review AI-generated accounting materials prior to customer deployment.

• Participate in prospect and customer discussions, clarifying intricate accounting scenarios.

• Produce customer bulletins for the Knowledge Base.

• Ensure end-to-end validation of new accounting features and address any discrepancies.

• Guide junior team members.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales throughout the product development process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive understanding of corporate debt structures and their accounting treatments, particularly in navigating complex debt situations typical of private equity (PE)-backed firms.

• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP with the capability to explain standards in accessible language for non-accounting audiences.

• Familiarity with IFRS and international frameworks is preferred.

• Experience with GASB is advantageous.

• Capability to independently research technical accounting guidance and produce well-documented conclusions.

• Proficiency in AI tools and large language models, including adeptness in prompt creation and critical evaluation of outputs.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored for technical, executive, and client-facing audiences.

• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence results without direct authority.

• Competence to manage several concurrent research and project streams independently.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.

• An active CPA license is required.

• Four to six years of progressive experience in Big 4 audit/assurance or senior corporate accounting.
