This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Deliver comprehensive procurement operations and tactical sourcing assistance.
• Assess purchase requisitions for accuracy, adherence to policies, appropriate coding, and alignment with sourcing channels.
• Generate and uphold purchase orders in line with sanctioned requests, contracts, catalogs, and assigned controls.
• Monitor purchase orders, confirmations, delivery commitments, and exceptions, liaising with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Facilitate supplier communication regarding operational needs, order clarifications, delivery follow-ups, and issue resolution.
• Aid in resolving invoice discrepancies by investigating purchase order, receipt, pricing, and supplier data inconsistencies.
• Oversee assigned categories within the defined category strategy and approval framework.
• Prepare and conduct RFQs, which include clarifying requirements, coordinating bidders, performing commercial analysis, and compiling recommendation packs.
• Engage in negotiations within authorized objectives, thresholds, and mandates; escalate exceptions or significant commitments as necessary.
• Assist in supplier selection through documented evaluations of commercial, service, risk, and compliance factors.
• Coordinate the development, renewal, administration, and compliance monitoring of contracts.
• Identify opportunities for savings, cost avoidance, demand management, and reduction of spot buys.
• Oversee supplier onboarding and manage vendor master data requests.
• Maintain procurement catalogs and promote the use of preferred buying channels.
• Generate spend analytics and actionable insights for procurement.
• Manage supplier performance data and aid in supplier evaluations and enhancement initiatives.
• Offer procurement process guidance to users; note that SAP application support and technical incident resolution fall outside this role.
• Support procurement activities stemming from approved inventory plans, which include supplier follow-ups, order placements, and escalation of supply risks.
• Provide purchasing and supplier information to inventory planners and operational stakeholders.
• Serve as a senior contact for intricate procurement cases and mentor less-experienced colleagues when requested.
• Advocate for standardized practices, robust controls, accurate data, and transparent escalation processes.
• Identify recurring root causes and spearhead practical improvements in processes, catalog adoption, compliance, and supplier performance.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in procurement operations, tactical sourcing, purchasing, or category support within a regional or shared-service context.
• Proven capability in managing RFQs, conducting commercial analyses, negotiating with suppliers, and coordinating contracts.
• Experience managing high transaction volumes while ensuring quality, compliance, and excellent customer service.
• Demonstrated experience in managing international stakeholders in a multicultural setting.
• Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to manage procurement needs spread across diverse geographies and effectively coordinate with local suppliers in various markets.
• Familiarity with P2P / ERP systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and business relationship management across remote and international stakeholders.
• Solid tactical sourcing and negotiation expertise.
• Customer-centric approach with the ability to translate business needs into practical procurement solutions.
• In-depth understanding of P2P controls, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Analytical mindset with structured problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate purchasing demands across multiple locations, stakeholders, and suppliers.
