This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Spearhead the procurement strategy for essential packaging categories that support Nestlé Health Science U.S.
• Oversee a packaging spend portfolio ranging from approximately $50M to $70M.
• Formulate and implement long-term category strategies alongside annual sourcing plans.
• Develop and oversee a continuous improvement pipeline while tracking savings in collaboration with Finance.
• Conduct market research and sustain category strategies.
• Enhance sourcing, supplier selection, pricing, contracting, and commercialization processes.
• Negotiate and execute supplier agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance and devise improvement plans.
• Establish proactive risk management measures and resolve supply issues with Supply Planning.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to address business and brand needs, industry trends, and opportunities.
• Assist with the launch of new products, technologies, initiatives, and transformation projects.
• Ensure accurate Procurement data is maintained in the ERP system.
• Manage the monthly price forecast review process.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant professional experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
• Over 5 years of experience with packaging categories such as corrugate, folding cartons, labels, flexible packaging, rigid containers, closures, and similar materials is preferred.
• Significant experience in procurement of packaging materials, ideally within the food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, consumer goods, or similar manufacturing sectors.
• A comprehensive Procurement background supporting manufacturing, commercial, or corporate functions.
• Proven experience with escalating responsibility in procurement and pertinent subject matter expertise is preferred.
• Capability to work and communicate effectively across all organizational levels and functions.
• Proficiency in leading cross-functional teams and addressing complex business challenges.
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including data analysis and process improvement.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across the organization.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Experience with Oracle ERP systems is preferred.
• Supply chain experience, particularly in planning and logistics, is preferred.
• Ability to partner with technical stakeholders and comprehend technical requirements.
• Experience in a global, matrixed organization.
• Proficiency in drafting, negotiating, and managing supplier contracts.
• Strong financial acumen, including P&L analysis, budgeting, and cash flow management.
