This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +5 more countries.
• Lead engagements focusing on VMware and Kubernetes architecture from the initial discovery phase to handover.
• Facilitate customer workshops to gather technical, operational, security, migration, and business requirements.
• Evaluate existing infrastructure, virtualization, networking, security, automation, and Kubernetes environments.
• Design future-state architectures for VCF and Kubernetes.
• Develop high-level and low-level designs, diagrams, procedures, migration plans, and transformation roadmaps.
• Create networking and security solutions using NSX and vDefend, including BGP and Tier-0/Tier-1 routing.
• Define architectures for automation and orchestration utilizing VCF/Aria Automation and associated technologies.
• Plan for installations, migrations, upgrades, patching, disaster recovery, and modernization initiatives.
• Present recommendations, elucidate trade-offs, and justify architectural decisions.
• Deliver implementation-ready designs and provide guidance to delivery teams as needed.
• Lead or assist in proofs of concept and technology evaluations.
• Collaborate with customers, solutions architects, delivery technical leads, and engineers.
• Keep technical knowledge current through documentation, lab testing, and certification.
• Extensive experience at a senior level in designing enterprise VMware, private cloud, or platform solutions.
• Strong practical expertise in architecture for both VMware and Kubernetes.
• Proven experience in assessing current-state environments and crafting secure, reliable, and operationally supportable future-state architectures.
• In-depth knowledge of VCF, vSphere, vSAN, NSX, vDefend, automation, operations, logging, disaster recovery, Supervisor, and VKS.
• Capability to architect Kubernetes platforms and integrate them seamlessly with VMware infrastructure, networking, storage, and security.
• Familiarity with NSX networking, including BGP, Edge Nodes, Tier-0/Tier-1 routing, route redistribution, and north-south connectivity.
• Experience with VMware automation and orchestration, including VCF/Aria Automation.
• Background in developing strategies for migration, modernization, and cloud transformation.
• Demonstrated experience in enterprise consulting or professional services.
• Ability to independently lead discovery workshops, gather requirements, and translate findings into architecture.
• Excellent presentation skills and the ability to articulate and defend technical trade-offs to both engineers and management.
• Strong written documentation skills, encompassing high-level and low-level designs.
• Proficiency in identifying and documenting risks, constraints, dependencies, and prerequisites.
• Ability to adhere to industry guidelines and best practices.
• Proficiency in English at an upper-intermediate level or higher.
