Senior Principal Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, upkeep, and support of technical infrastructure, which encompasses network, hardware, database, and system software elements.

• Enhance delivery speed and quality by leveraging technical expertise, providing leadership, and communicating best practices.

• Act as a primary contact for a substantial portfolio while promoting the learning and adoption of innovative technologies.

• Collaborate with third-party vendors to address technical requirements and promote interoperability.

• Provide support to 4–6 diverse teams across various products.

• Ensure efficient resource utilization, effective system design and refactoring, cost optimization, process improvement, and infrastructure enhancement.

• Lead Principal meetings at the portfolio level to ensure alignment, consistency, and knowledge exchange.

• Engage in discussions on build-versus-buy technology decisions.

• Create proofs of concept with new technologies to facilitate portfolio adoption.

• Monitor resource usage and identify opportunities for cost reductions and enhancements.

• Address and resolve highly complex challenges; offer leadership, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.

• Collaborate with Distinguished Engineers to define technology solutions and influence technology roadmaps.

• Eliminate roadblocks and bottlenecks across cross-functional initiatives.

• Manage high-priority issues and outages, respond to project/product/support inquiries, resolve technology disputes, and implement vendor feature improvements.

• Advocate for successful utilization of tools and technology with local teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

• High school diploma and/or GED is required.

• A minimum of 9 years of work experience is necessary.

• Expertise in a specific field should include a programming language or significant knowledge in multiple infrastructure areas.

• Proficiency in designated domains is essential.

• Ability to quickly comprehend complex systems.

• Active involvement in or leadership of professional groups linked to specific domains is preferred.

• Preferred 7–9 years of relevant work experience.

• Preferred at least 1 year of prior leadership experience.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
