Senior Principal Software Architect – Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and test enhancements for Control APIs and services, focusing on rule evaluation, policy enforcement, advanced optimizations, and real-time usage insights.

• Utilize Go on Kubernetes and GCP.

• Create scalable systems for telemetry shaping and cost management, encompassing ingest policies, aggregation, sampling policies, utility scores and recommendations, and usage-based controls.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to provide customer-facing solutions that help users understand telemetry cost drivers and take safe, effective actions.

• Take ownership of operational quality through instrumentation, alerting, debugging, incident response, and performance optimization for production workloads.

• Work in partnership with product, design, platform, infrastructure, and developer experience teams to weave Control decisions into the wider ingestion, query, and storage ecosystem.

• Develop a deep understanding of Chronosphere’s observability platform and contribute to Control features.

• Deliver impactful enhancements and influence system design direction.

• Demonstrated experience in building high-quality, scalable systems.

• Background in working with complex, performance-sensitive services in production environments.

• Strong proficiency in a systems programming language such as Go, C++, Java, C#, or Rust.

• Fluency gained through hands-on engineering experience.

• Capacity to independently manage projects from conception to completion, including planning, gathering requirements, collaborating with stakeholders, and executing with operational maturity.

• A genuine curiosity and drive to learn about intricate, complex domains.

• A consistent practice of seeking feedback and the ability to ask for assistance when necessary.

• Passion for product engineering and creating features that deliver direct customer value in the realms of cost control, optimizations, and reliability.
