This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.
• Lead the management of supplier quality risks by establishing evaluation and control systems.
• Ensure that supplier processes and products adhere to contractual, regulatory, and technical standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate quality and manufacturing practices.
• Execute product and process verifications, including checks of visual and dimensional characteristics along with compliance documentation.
• Supervise Supplier Quality plans throughout various program phases.
• Engage in the evaluation, qualification, and selection of suppliers for acquisitions and new procurements.
• Implement and mentor suppliers on essential quality tools, such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, MSA, SPC, capability studies, mistake-proofing, 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, and DOE.
• Initiate Supplier Corrective Action Requests and work with suppliers and stakeholders to determine root causes and apply effective corrective measures.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Supplier Quality colleagues to enhance supplier technical capabilities, including management of sub-tier suppliers and oversight of special processes.
• Take ownership of supplier quality performance for designated suppliers and guarantee compliance with drawings, specifications, key characteristics, and contractual quality requirements.
• Execute Supplier Quality processes, which encompass approvals, source selection, supplier classification, risk assessments and mitigations, development of quality requirements, and their dissemination.
• Provide support to suppliers located in the Northeast and Midwest regions.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and at least 8 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, and/or general engineering, or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in those areas.
• Familiarity with ISO9001 or AS9100 Quality Management System and AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI) or similar standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and specific process requirements.
• Experience in defining strategies for risk-based inspections and controls.
• Proven experience in leading audits, New Product Introductions (NPI), and/or Production Readiness Reviews.
• US citizenship is mandatory.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
• Preferred: Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or a related engineering field.
• Preferred: Formal auditor training/certification (AS9100 internal/lead auditor) along with demonstrated auditing experience.
• Preferred: Experience performing product reviews/inspections utilizing visual inspection and measuring tools.
• Preferred: Experience with NADCAP/PRI special process environments and oversight of sub-tier special processors.
• Preferred: Background in precision machining, metal forming, and related finishing processes.
• Preferred: Experience in implementing APQP and PPAP processes.
• Preferred: Background in leading complex problem-solving and corrective action initiatives (SCAR/CAPA/8D).
• Preferred: Experience in planning and organizing activities across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Preferred: Extensive experience in leading process improvement projects.
