Senior Data Engineer, Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and sustain data pipelines and workflows for ingesting, transforming, and integrating data from various sources.

• Construct and enhance Lakehouse, Warehouse, and analytical solutions within Microsoft Fabric.

• Create data transformation processes using SQL, Python, and PySpark to support reporting, analytics, and AI projects.

• Maintain data quality, performance, security, and governance in line with Microsoft and industry best practices.

• Work closely with architects, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data-centric solutions.

• Engage in Agile/Scrum teams utilizing Azure DevOps and Git for development, deployment, and collaborative efforts.

• Document data solutions and keep abreast of Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and contemporary data engineering technologies.

• Offer technical expertise and assist in translating business and technical needs into scalable, secure, and dependable data solutions.

• Facilitate technical discussions, mentor junior team members, and enhance Argano's data engineering capabilities across client projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 5 years of practical experience in Data Engineering.

• More than 5 years of experience in designing and implementing solutions on the Microsoft Azure Data Platform.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Fabric, encompassing Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Data Engineering, and Real-Time Analytics.

• Profound knowledge of Azure SQL Database, SQL Server, T-SQL, Synapse Analytics, and Fabric data solutions.

• Advanced skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL.

• Experience in crafting and implementing modern data warehouses, data marts, and enterprise-level data platforms.

• Proficiency in building and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines for analytical and operational workloads.

• Familiarity with dimensional modeling and star schema design.

• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code principles.

• Strong grasp of cloud security, governance, and data management best practices.

• Experience collaborating within Agile/Scrum teams.

• Capacity to lead technical discussions and mentor junior team members.

• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700).

• Superior problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to offer technical insights, recommend solution strategies, and guide implementation choices.

• Skill in identifying technical risks, data quality concerns, performance bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.

• Expertise in data architecture and design principles.

• Advanced knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases.

• Experience optimizing Spark workloads, SQL performance, storage architectures, and large-scale data pipelines.
