GCP Cloud Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and oversee GCP landing zones that comply with FedRAMP High and NIST standards.

• Conduct technical evaluations of pilots and new workloads, providing recommendations for architecture and pathways to production.

• Strategically plan and execute the migration of applications and data from on-premises data centers and various clouds to GCP, ensuring secure hybrid connectivity.

• Advocate for Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform, ensuring environments are reproducible, version-controlled, and consistently compliant.

• Establish practices for cost optimization, governance, and resource tagging that ensure clear accountability.

• Design and regulate secure Google Cloud Platform architectures tailored for a federal health client.

• Collaborate with system administrators, application teams, and project teams to manage, modernize, and migrate applications to the cloud.

• Define the technical direction for new workloads.

• Provide support to a cloud operations and migration team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in cloud architecture, solution engineering, enterprise architecture, or similar technical positions.

• Demonstrated experience in leading the design, governance, and integration of secure GCP solutions, including landing zones that conform to FedRAMP High and NIST standards.

• Expertise in network architecture on GCP utilizing Network Connectivity Center, multi-VPC designs, HA Cloud VPN, and Interconnect, including designs that comply with Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) policy.

• Experience in modernizing legacy systems using GKE and serverless platforms while overseeing application and data migrations to GCP.

• Strong skills in Terraform, along with practical experience in cost optimization, cloud governance, and resource tagging.

• Capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences clearly.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation (Public Trust).

• Applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

• Applicants should have lived in the United States for at least 3 years.

• Selected applicants will undergo a Security Investigation and may need to meet criteria for access to Protected and/or Classified Information.
