Senior Pre-Sales Engineer – Financial Services, Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with sales executives as an essential part of the Financial Services & Insurance go-to-market team.

• Highlight the advantages of Neo4j’s graph data platform while overseeing the technical components of the sales process.

• Assist financial-sector organizations in recognizing and validating the value of Neo4j for vital use cases and innovative solutions.

• Exhibit thought leadership through demonstrations of the platform and use cases, solution architecture, workshops, and conferences.

• Support Sales in qualifying and validating technical opportunities, expediting sales cycles, and promoting Neo4j adoption.

• Work in conjunction with Sales, Professional Services, Product Management, and additional teams to maximize customer value.

• Serve as a technical consultant and champion for Neo4j products and services.

• Lead technology assessment phases during sales cycles.

• Manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, including qualification, technical discovery, presentations, demonstrations, proof of value, sizing, and documentation.

• Establish relationships with customer stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor.

• Collaborate on reference and solution architectures that integrate Neo4j with existing frameworks and applications in both public cloud and on-premise settings.

• Remain updated on Neo4j capabilities and third-party integrations.

• Relay customer requirements and product insights to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams.

• Engage in account-based marketing events, conferences, and trade shows.

• Travel as necessary to facilitate deal creation, closure, and team support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of customer-facing experience in a related role (Sales/Pre-sales/Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant, etc.).

• Expertise in enterprise data architecture, data analytics, data science, or cloud data architecture.

• Proficient knowledge of graph databases such as Neo4j, TigerGraph, OrientDB, or JanusGraph.

• Practical experience and skill with relational (SQL) and/or NoSQL databases.

• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go.

• Understanding of GenAI, LLMs, and Agentic AI is essential.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing data solutions in AWS, Azure, GCP, or on-premise environments.

• Capability to present and convey concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations, whiteboarding, and platform demonstrations.

• Communication skills to translate technical ideas into business outcomes within the financial sector.

• Required knowledge of the financial services and/or insurance industry.

• Enthusiasm for adopting new technologies and developing data modeling and change management methodologies.

• An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to prioritize, adapt, and solve problems effectively.
