Senior Portfolio Sustainability Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and enhance energy and sustainability programs in partnership with the client's sustainability team.

• Spearhead energy reduction and sustainability efforts throughout the client's real estate portfolio.

• Create tactical, strategic, annual, and multi-year sustainability strategies.

• Evaluate the feasibility of solar PV and assess solar power purchase agreements (PPAs).

• Analyze site suitability for ENERGY STAR certifications.

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for sustainability service delivery.

• Achieve client sustainability goals and key performance indicators (KPIs); monitor and assess performance.

• Oversee stakeholder engagement and incorporate energy and sustainability initiatives.

• Manage data collection for energy, waste, and water, and generate monthly and quarterly reports for clients.

• Counsel facility managers, energy champions, and account colleagues on environmental sustainability practices.

• Collaborate with JLL technology, finance, projects, Integrated Facilities Management (IFM), consultants, and procurement teams.

• Share best practices, develop case studies, and seek new business opportunities.

• Manage changes impacting sustainability objectives.

• Ensure data integrity and accuracy in collaboration with data analysts.

• Monitor and communicate success stories related to sustainability programs.

• Establish systems and processes for top-notch sustainability performance and utility/sustainability management reporting.

• Take ownership of program deliverables in accordance with scope and schedule.

• Provide subject matter expertise and oversee specific program components.

• Develop, apply for, and secure state, federal, and utility incentives.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth technical knowledge of common HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems.

• Capability to perform remote energy audits by accessing client building management systems online.

• A university degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.

• Certified Energy Manager designation from the Association of Energy Engineers.

• Over 10 years of experience in sustainable operations, engineering of commercial and laboratory buildings, building science, facilities management, or related fields.

• Advanced understanding of energy conservation measures and sustainability initiatives within commercial real estate.

• Strong operational experience in a large, multi-faceted organization.

• Experience interacting with upper management and C-suite executives is preferred.

• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams, including developing and delivering presentations and training sessions.

• Exceptional skills in building client relationships.

• A track record of strategically integrating sustainability into organizational operations.

• Experience in developing and executing sustainability programs, tactical plans, processes, roadmaps, and procedures.

• Demonstrated project management experience.

• Proficiency in utility data analytics.

• Understanding of Greenhouse Gas Emission scopes and reporting requirements.

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License is preferred.

• Advanced degree is preferred.

• Practical experience in building auditing, commissioning, retrofitting, or design is preferred.

• Experience with corporate clients, commercial properties, property managers, and landlord-tenant relationships is desirable.

• Familiarity with municipal energy and sustainability regulations.

• Advanced experience in utility and waste data analytics is preferred.
