Senior Portfolio Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee the clinical diagnostics portfolio, focusing mainly on clinical chemistry and immunoassay (CCIA), while also handling responsibilities related to hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, LC-MS, and select point-of-care diagnostics.

• Cultivate and manage business relationships with designated supplier partners.

• Propel alignment, performance, and profitable growth in accordance with the goals set in the annual operating plan.

• Formulate and implement strategies for the portfolio and suppliers.

• Conduct supplier business reviews, which include performance assessments, business updates, identification of opportunities, risks, and development of action plans.

• Negotiate the commercial terms with suppliers, covering pricing, rebates, and marketing funding.

• Collaborate with Legal and other stakeholders to finalize contractual agreements.

• Identify and assess new suppliers, products, technologies, and opportunities for the portfolio.

• Spearhead new product launches and the introduction of suppliers.

• Create and implement marketing programs, sales tools, campaigns, and initiatives for growth.

• Act as a subject matter expert for the portfolio, offering insights on products, markets, competition, and technical aspects.

• Analyze market trends, business performance, pricing, margins, and forecasts to guide portfolio decisions.

• Develop strategies for pricing and positioning.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams encompassing Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Capital Contracting, Purchasing, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, Legal, Product Administration, and Learning and Development.

• Obtain supplier support and funding for strategic initiatives.

• Address business issues proactively and ensure timely resolutions.

• Prioritize and manage multiple suppliers, projects, deadlines, and business requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in science, business, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in the clinical diagnostics or laboratory products sector.

• Experience in product or portfolio management, channel management, supplier management, commercial sales, or related functions.

• Familiarity with or significant knowledge of clinical chemistry and immunoassay (CCIA).

• Understanding of laboratory workflows, instrumentation, assays, reagents and consumables, competitive platforms, and customer needs.

• Preference for candidates with experience in capital instrumentation.

• Valuable experience working within a distribution model or managing distributors/channel partners for a diagnostics manufacturer.

• Additional knowledge or experience in hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, LC-MS, and/or point-of-care diagnostics is advantageous.

• Strong commercial, financial, and analytical skills.

• Ability to interpret business performance data, pricing, margins, forecasts, and market dynamics.

• Capability to balance strategic planning with practical execution.

• Proven ability to establish business relationships, negotiate effectively, align priorities, and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

• Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.

• Strong judgment, accountability, and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard business applications.

• Willingness to travel domestically approximately 20–25% of the time.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening.
