Senior PMO Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of intricate PMO initiatives from start to finish, encompassing problem identification and analysis, solution design, implementation, adoption, measurement, and ongoing enhancement.

• Develop and refine organization-wide practices for project, program, delivery, governance, and cross-functional management.

• Identify systemic delivery and management challenges by utilizing data, stakeholder feedback, project evaluations, and structured analysis.

• Convert recognized issues into practical solutions, implementation strategies, success metrics, and measurable results.

• Spearhead specific elements of the PMO roadmap, guaranteeing clear objectives, accountability, execution rigor, and concrete business results.

• Create and enhance governance structures, decision-making processes, controls, metrics, and feedback mechanisms that provide business value.

• Propel organizational change beyond mere documentation and process design, ensuring that new practices are comprehended, adopted, utilized, and continuously improved.

• Collaborate with senior leaders, Delivery, Engineering, Operations, and other departments to address cross-functional challenges and enhance organizational efficiency.

• Guide intricate discussions and decisions, constructively challenge ineffective practices, and foster stakeholder alignment around necessary changes.

• Offer specialized PMO expertise and assistance to delivery organizations and strategic initiatives where systemic enhancements are needed.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions, pinpoint discrepancies between expected and actual outcomes, and modify strategies as needed.

• Enhance project and delivery management skills through assessments, mentoring, interviews, training, and knowledge sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in IT Project, Program, Delivery, or PMO Management, with a strong foundation in hands-on delivery.

• Robust project and program management skills, including planning, governance, dependencies, risk management, decision-making, execution control, and continuous improvement.

• Excellent structured problem-solving and analytical skills, with the capacity to identify root causes, work with data, and transform findings into actionable decisions.

• Strong business judgment with the ability to differentiate significant business challenges from surface symptoms.

• Capable of defining meaningful success metrics and utilizing them to assess whether an initiative is achieving the anticipated results.

• Excellent stakeholder management abilities, including the capacity to influence without formal authority, negotiate, constructively challenge assumptions, and facilitate difficult decisions.

• Experience in change and process management, encompassing implementation, stakeholder buy-in, and sustaining change.

• Ability to navigate effectively within ambiguous, complex, and evolving organizational settings.

• Proven track record of leading complex cross-functional initiatives, transformations, governance enhancements, or organizational change.

• Demonstrated capability to independently manage an ambiguous problem from diagnosis to solution design to stakeholder alignment to implementation to adoption to measurable outcomes.

• High level of ownership and initiative—proficient at identifying necessary actions, structuring the work, and advancing it without requiring detailed guidance.

• Strong standards, a robust work ethic, resilience, and a willingness to remain engaged when needed to secure results.

• Sound business acumen and the ability to align PMO initiatives with delivery, client, operational, and company goals.

• Comprehensive understanding of contemporary project and delivery management methodologies, with the discernment to choose and adapt practices to the issues at hand rather than rigidly applying frameworks.

• Exceptional communication, facilitation, collaboration, and presentation skills, particularly when interacting with senior stakeholders.

• Ability to mentor others, elevate professional standards, and establish accountability through clear expectations and constructive feedback.

• Upper-Intermediate+ English proficiency.

• PMI or equivalent professional certifications (preferred).

• Familiarity with project, program, portfolio, or organizational maturity models (preferred).

• Experience in designing or evolving PMO governance and operating models (preferred).

• Background in pre-sales or client-facing consulting (preferred).

• Practical experience leveraging AI and automation to enhance management, delivery, analytics, or operational workflows (preferred).
