Senior Platform Engineer, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Implement infrastructure and platform enhancements within AWS environments.

• Execute infrastructure modifications utilizing Terraform, adhering to established module patterns and engineering standards.

• Design and uphold secure cloud solutions in accordance with AWS best practices.

• Build automation and tooling using Node.js or Python.

• Collaborate closely with senior engineers, technical leads, and engineering managers to achieve project milestones.

• Assist with CI/CD processes, testing, validation, and deployment tasks.

• Recognize delivery risks, troubleshoot challenges, and proactively address blockers.

• Contribute to initiatives focused on platform reliability, security, and operational excellence.

• Ensure infrastructure adheres to least-privilege and secure-by-default principles.

• Aid in enhancing engineering efficiency through automation and modern tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services, including ECS, Lambda, IAM, CloudFront, and other related cloud technologies.

• Demonstrated experience in constructing and managing infrastructure using Terraform.

• Strong understanding of AWS security, operational excellence, and cloud best practices.

• Solid experience in automation and scripting with either Node.js or Python.

• Experience operating within CI/CD environments and infrastructure-as-code workflows.

• Capability to work independently and deliver complex technical projects with minimal oversight.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in agile engineering teams.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

• Proficient in using AI-assisted engineering tools to enhance productivity and delivery quality.

• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Experience with AWS IAM and identity management.

• Familiarity with multi-account AWS environments.

• Experience with CloudFront, WAF, and CDN technologies.

• Knowledge of GitHub Actions or other Git-based CI/CD platforms.

• Background in large-scale cloud environments.

• Understanding of service-to-service authentication patterns, such as OIDC.

• Prior experience in supporting platform engineering or internal developer platforms.
