Senior Platform Engineer, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, secure, sustain, and enhance a highly available and cost-effective AWS cloud infrastructure.

• Set up and manage AWS networking components, including VPCs, subnets, and route tables.

• Oversee, optimize, monitor, and scale AWS Kubernetes clusters.

• Design, implement, and uphold secure CI/CD pipelines utilizing ArgoCD and GitHub Actions.

• Develop, modularize, and maintain Helm charts and platform templates to enable developer self-service.

• Configure and manage Istio service mesh architecture to ensure secure traffic flow, encryption, and advanced routing capabilities.

• Codify and maintain cloud resources using Terraform in both staging and production environments.

• Identify and address infrastructure and process bottlenecks to enhance deployment automation.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to bolster reliability, scalability, and developer productivity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

• Strong practical expertise in AWS, including VPCs, subnets, and routing.

• Experience in administering, scaling, and monitoring production Kubernetes/containerized environments.

• Proficiency in building deployment pipelines with ArgoCD and GitHub Actions.

• Hands-on experience in writing and modularizing Helm charts.

• Skilled in managing complex environments using Terraform.

• Experience with configuring traffic routing, security policies, and observability through Istio.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Preferred: Experience with Azure or GCP.

• Preferred: Familiarity with OPA Gatekeeper policies.

• Preferred: Knowledge of PostgreSQL.

• Preferred: Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting.

• Preferred: Experience with Atlantis.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Spacelift.
