Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.

• Develop and manage infrastructure as code utilizing Terraform.

• Deploy, manage, and monitor containerized applications through Kubernetes.

• Assist in the development and management of production Kubernetes clusters in a cloud environment, ideally AWS.

• Oversee and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure to support scalable and secure applications.

• Administer and enhance source code repositories and workflows within GitHub.

• Collaborate with development teams to improve developer toolsets and streamline software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.

• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application-related issues.

• Implement best practices for security, reliability, and performance.

• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to comprehend requirements and deliver effective solutions.

• Explore new methodologies and technologies, including AI capabilities, to boost team productivity and impact.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in platform engineering or a comparable role.

• Proficient in Golang or Python for scripting and automation tasks.

• Demonstrated experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.

• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration, along with experience using ArgoCD.

• Practical experience with GitHub for version control and collaborative development.

• Established experience with AWS cloud services.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work effectively under pressure.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proven ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

• Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Good understanding of networking principles.

• Experience with GitHub runners and other CI/CD tools and platforms.

• Familiarity with Go, Python, or Java in the context of CI/CD processes.

• Knowledge of security best practices within cloud environments.

• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, ELK, and Grafana stacks.

• Background in networking and Linux systems.

• AWS or Kubernetes certification and experience with Backstage is advantageous.

• Experience with kOps is a plus.

• Understanding of Cilium CNI is a bonus.
