Senior PHP Developer – Gambio

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement new features for Gambio shop software in alignment with the product roadmap, from initial concept to final release.

• Provide insights and suggestions for ongoing product enhancements.

• Enhance the REST API, event system, and integrations with payment providers, marketplaces, shipping services, and ERP systems.

• Collaborate with the support team to identify and resolve bugs.

• Create automated tests to ensure software quality.

• Conduct code reviews for colleagues' work.

• Collaborate within an agile team alongside product owners and QA specialists.

• Depending on your level of expertise, make technical decisions and influence the architecture of the shop software.

• Take charge of the REST API, event system, and integrations.

• Strategize and execute the gradual modernization of existing code.

• Mentor less experienced developers through code reviews and pair programming.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven professional experience in PHP development.

• Strong proficiency in PHP 8 and object-oriented programming principles.

• Familiarity with MySQL/MariaDB, Git, and Composer.

• Experience with REST APIs and standards, including OAuth.

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks, particularly PHPUnit.

• Experience with continuous integration (CI) pipelines.

• Knowledge of Docker technology.

• Willingness to incorporate AI tools into daily tasks.

• Experience with e-commerce platforms like Gambio, Shopware, Magento, or WooCommerce is advantageous.

• Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively within a distributed team.

• Proficiency in English.

• Practical experience is preferred over formal degrees or certifications.

• Several years of experience with significant technical responsibilities on larger projects is advantageous.

• Experience in making and articulating architectural decisions is a plus.

• Experience modernizing legacy code without impacting production is beneficial.

• Willingness to share knowledge is a plus.

• Must reside and work in Germany.
