This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Engage in performance engineering, load testing, and monitoring for a project involving a client in Spain.
• Oversee the entire performance engineering lifecycle for the client's applications.
• Formulate testing strategies and model load scenarios based on actual production behaviors.
• Conduct controlled and reproducible tests, including distributed testing scenarios.
• Evaluate results to determine the root causes of performance challenges.
• Monitor the testing environment using APM, infrastructure metrics, logs, and traces.
• Collaborate with Development, Database, Infrastructure, Architecture, and SRE teams.
• Act as the technical point of contact for MTP with the client.
• Set acceptance criteria and baselines, and monitor regressions across different releases.
• Create, maintain, and improve Apache JMeter scripts and test suites.
• Prepare and validate testing environments.
• Assess response times, throughput, errors, and infrastructure components.
• Suggest corrective measures and validate performance enhancements.
• Compile technical and executive reports detailing capacity, bottlenecks, risks, and recommendations.
• Automate testing processes and facilitate integration into CI/CD pipelines.
• Assist in the investigation of performance incidents in production.
• Proven experience as a Performance Analyst or Performance Engineer, consistently working on real-world performance testing and engineering projects.
• Strong practical knowledge of Apache JMeter, encompassing the development, maintenance, and enhancement of test suites.
• Practical experience with monitoring and APM tools.
• Familiarity with Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Datadog, Grafana/Prometheus, or Elastic, or similar solutions.
• Experience in load modeling and establishing performance acceptance criteria.
• Ability to analyze results and pinpoint bottlenecks and root causes based on empirical evidence.
• Understanding of performance metrics and indicators, including response times, throughput, errors, and percentiles.
• Knowledge of CPU, memory, garbage collection, threads, connection pools, caching, I/O, and networking.
• Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST, SOAP, WebSocket, gRPC, and/or messaging protocols.
• Familiarity with distributed architectures and microservices.
• Database knowledge for assessing execution plans, indexes, locks, contention, and query impacts.
• Scripting abilities in Java, Groovy, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience working in distributed environments and collaborating with Development and Infrastructure teams.
• Proficient in English, including technical reading, writing, and conversational skills.
• Operational Spanish for daily interactions with the client.
• Preferred qualifications include: Selenium/WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured, automation frameworks, Performance as Code, CI/CD, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, quality gates, shift-left, k6, Gatling, LoadRunner, NeoLoad, BlazeMeter, AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, SRE, ISTQB, APM, consulting, regulated industries, and Chaos Engineering.
