Coding Quality Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Oversee, implement, and/or facilitate the coding quality review process.

• Evaluate coding inaccuracies and provide guidance and education.

• Recognize and recommend quality enhancement opportunities to staff.

• Engage in personalized feedback sessions for coding personnel.

• Compile review findings and highlight trends for targeted educational initiatives.

• Generate summary reports on coding review outcomes upon request.

• Commit to 40 hours weekly, mainly during daytime hours, with adaptable shift arrangements based on operational requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of a Medical Coding Program is mandatory, unless two years of coding experience is accepted in place of the program.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• A Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related discipline is preferred.

• Graduation from a Health Information Technology program is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant coding or review experience in a healthcare environment is required.

• Preferred is 5 years of multi-specialty professional coding experience in an academic medical center.

• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database software is mandatory.

• Familiarity with coding concepts such as CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS is required.

• Experience with Microsoft Office is essential.

• One of the following certifications is required: CPC, CCS, CIC, COC, or CCS-P.

• CPMA, RHIT, or RHIA certifications are preferred.

• Candidates must reside in an approved remote work state for UW Health.
