This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead data-centric payroll operations and provide actionable insights across payroll, timekeeping, and labor distribution.
• Work in collaboration with customers and Payroll Reporting team members to design, develop, implement, and support intricate BI solutions.
• Create, maintain, and oversee metrics, dashboards, and recurrent reports.
• Examine payroll, timekeeping, and labor distribution data, offering technical support in interpreting the results.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and process flows.
• Equip leadership with accessible, actionable data and analytics.
• Identify reporting opportunities and draft proposals with both technical and functional specifications.
• Establish and uphold standardized payroll, timekeeping, and labor distribution reports and metrics.
• Provide data for financial modeling, payroll accruals, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data across payroll systems and reporting outputs.
• Address information requests, collective bargaining agreement inquiries, and public data requests.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries and reports to support reviews and pay-period processing.
• Oversee small systems and reporting projects utilizing waterfall and agile methodologies.
• Create project plans, timelines, risk assessments, milestones, and status reports.
• Coordinate project communications and the deployment of deliverables.
• Enhance payroll, timekeeping, and labor distribution data structures and reporting capabilities.
• Identify process improvements through automation, system enhancements, and data integration.
• Collaborate with HRIS, Finance, and IT teams on implementations and upgrades.
• Develop compliance queries and reports aligned with federal, state, collective bargaining, and OHSU requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Monitor and improve controls to reduce operational and financial risks.
• Analyze trends, variances, and anomalies, and conduct root-cause analysis on payroll discrepancies.
• Create and deliver presentations, educational materials, and training resources.
• Document business requirements, data architecture, processes, and training materials.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in payroll, timekeeping, and labor distribution data.
• Collaborate on reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Translate complex data into clear insights for informed decision-making by leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Five years of experience with database querying, analytics, and reporting tools.
• Three years of experience managing technical projects as a project manager.
• Two years of payroll experience with an understanding of administrative systems, processes, and human resources functional areas.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
• Proficient in using enterprise BI tools to write complex reports integrating data from various systems and external sources.
• Ability to build interactive dashboards.
• Capable of providing data-driven insights to non-technical audiences, including senior executive leadership.
• Competent in planning, organizing, and delivering training and presentations to diverse employee groups.
• Advanced proficiency with the MS Office suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Visio, and Project.
• Ability to map Payroll, Timekeeping, or Labor Distribution processes and comprehend source-system data storage, ETL, and Framework Manager reporting structures.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, follow-through, and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain composure in high-pressure and changing conditions.
• Experience in establishing effective working relationships across various professional backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Preferred: Experience with Power BI.
• Preferred: Familiarity with IBM Cognos Business Intelligence tools.
• Preferred: SQL/Database experience, including Oracle or SQL Server.
• Preferred: Technical documentation skills for reports and data/report models.
• Preferred: Advanced expertise with Oracle payroll and UKG Kronos systems.
• Preferred: Experience with data modeling tools.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and procedures.
