This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of end-to-end payroll processing for a designated portfolio of multi-state clients, ensuring precision, punctuality, and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

• Utilize knowledge of hiring regulations, termination pay rules, and final paycheck requirements across various U.S. states.

• Oversee payroll deductions and adjustments related to benefits, including prorations, retroactive deductions, and mid-period modifications.

• Maintain expertise in 401(k) payroll-related processes such as contribution processing, loan repayments, and plan maintenance.

• Supervise and manage payroll tax filings while addressing payroll tax notices from federal, state, and local agencies.

• Act as the primary point of contact for designated clients regarding payroll issues.

• Handle complex client scenarios independently and escalate matters to the Payroll Director when necessary.

• Facilitate the onboarding of new payroll clients and support transitions, data migrations, and system setups.

• Provide mentorship to junior payroll associates and be the first point of escalation for routine payroll inquiries.

• Assist the Payroll Director in enhancing internal processes, checklists, and best practices.

• Engage in internal training initiatives and contribute to the payroll knowledge repository.

• Operate payroll platforms such as Gusto, Justworks, ADP, and Paychex, while aiding in the enhancement of payroll workflows, templates, and compliance controls.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 3-6 years of practical U.S. payroll experience.

• Experience in a multi-client payroll environment, such as a CPA firm, PEO, or payroll service provider, or significant exposure to multi-state payroll across 10+ states.

• Proficient in using payroll platforms such as Gusto, Justworks, ADP, Paychex, or similar systems.

• Comfortable working with spreadsheets and payroll reports for reconciliation and auditing purposes.

• Familiarity with hiring regulations, termination pay rules, and final paycheck requirements across different U.S. states.

• Knowledge of payroll deductions and adjustments related to health, dental, and vision benefits, including prorations, retroactive deductions, and mid-period modifications.

• Understanding of 401(k) payroll processes, including contribution processing, loan repayments, and plan maintenance.

• Experience resolving client payroll issues and identifying compliance risks or discrepancies before, during, and after payroll processing.

• FPC or CPP certification is preferred.

• Proficiency in French is preferred.
