Payroll Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the payroll processing for the organization and gather payroll data to ensure precise payroll records are maintained.

• Input employee, timesheet, benefits, and various payroll information into the payroll system.

• Manage payroll deductions related to taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.

• Work alongside the Senior Payroll Manager on payroll documentation, wage garnishments, and notices from tax agencies.

• Issue manual or replacement checks or direct deposits to rectify payroll errors, returned deposits, or for final discharges.

• Handle the payroll email inbox via the FreshDesk ticketing system, ensuring payroll inquiries are addressed within 24-48 hours.

• Assist with biweekly, monthly, off-cycle, quarter-end, and year-end payroll processing activities.

• Generate payroll reports for senior management or auditing needs.

• Engage in problem-solving and special projects within the Payroll Department.

• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2-3 years of payroll experience is mandatory.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Some college education is preferred.

• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

• Familiarity with payroll software or the ability to quickly master it is necessary.

• Experience with Workday and ADP Smart compliance is preferred.
