Senior Payroll Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Accurately process multi-state payrolls in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with HR to ensure precise payroll data processing and maintenance.

• Handle and preserve payroll records, including new hire details, payroll modifications, and disbursements of fringe benefits.

• Deliver customer service by addressing and escalating payroll and timekeeping concerns.

• Register newly hired hourly employees in the timekeeping system.

• Educate timecard approvers on evaluating and approving timecards within payroll deadlines.

• Prepare, assess, and interpret payroll reports.

• Perform audits to ensure the integrity of data.

• Supervise system entries and general ledger activities related to payroll functions.

• Recognize and implement enhancements to systems and processes.

• Document workflows and operational procedures.

• Counsel Finance leadership on intricate payroll matters.

• Assist employees with state and federal tax queries and calculations.

• Mentor and guide other team members as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.

• Over 6 years of experience in payroll and timekeeping or in accounting and finance.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Intermediate skills in Excel.

• Experience with ADP Payroll software.

• Knowledge of accounting principles.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and familiarity with lean methodologies.

• Understanding of tax principles.

• Commitment to confidentiality.

• Capability to move or lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Frequent (>75%) sedentary position (standing or sitting) while using digital displays.

• Frequent (>75%) fine motor skills required using hands and fingers.
