Senior Payroll Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage and execute comprehensive payroll operations across multiple states, including bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and off-cycle payroll cycles.

• Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time, adhering to established controls, organizational policies, and requirements.

• Act as the payroll subject matter expert and serve as an "ADP Workforce Now Super User."

• Lead system configuration, maintain employee data integrity, handle reporting, ensure audit readiness, and drive platform enhancements.

• Oversee payroll-related benefits and retirement programs, which encompass deduction management, processing benefit changes, and administering 401(k) plans.

• Reconcile carrier invoices, billing statements, and payroll deduction registers with enrollment and payroll data.

• Ensure compliance and reporting for multi-state payroll taxes, including the setup of tax jurisdictions, accuracy of withholdings, remittance, and quarterly/annual filings.

• Address agency notices and jurisdictional discrepancies, collaborating with ADP and Finance on tax setup for new work locations.

• Manage payroll- and benefits-related monthly reporting, filings, testing, and documentation, including month-end reporting, ad hoc requests, EEO-1 reporting, non-discrimination testing, and Form 5500.

• Provide guidance and serve as the escalation point for employees, leaders, and both internal and external partners regarding payroll and benefits issues.

• Assess and enhance payroll processes, controls, and systems.

• Support HR initiatives requiring payroll, HRIS, benefits, reporting, or compliance expertise.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• 7 years of experience in payroll administration, with a focus on multi-state payroll.

• 5 years of experience processing payroll in California.

• 5 years of experience using Excel, Word, and Outlook, including proficiency in advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUP.

• 3 years of experience as an advanced or "Super User" in ADP Workforce Now, having extensive access to and knowledge of the platform’s payroll and HR functionalities.

• 3 years of experience with employee 401(k) retirement plans and payroll-related benefit deductions.

• 3 years of experience in benefits administration, including the reconciliation of carrier invoices and payroll deductions.

• 3 years of experience with payroll compliance activities, such as non-discrimination testing, EEO-1 reporting, and Form 5500 processes.
