Senior Payroll Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Accurately process payrolls for multiple states in a timely manner

• Collaborate with HR to ensure precise payroll data processing and record-keeping

• Manage and maintain payroll records, including new hire data, payroll modifications, and fringe benefit distributions

• Deliver customer service by resolving and escalating payroll and timekeeping issues

• Enroll newly hired hourly staff into the timekeeping system

• Provide training to timecard approvers on the review and approval of timecards within payroll deadlines

• Prepare, analyze, and review payroll reports

• Conduct audits to verify data accuracy

• Supervise system entries and general ledger activities related to payroll functions

• Identify and execute improvements in systems and processes

• Document workflows and operational procedures

• Counsel Finance leadership on intricate payroll matters

• Offer guidance on state and federal tax issues and calculations

• Mentor and train other team members as necessary

• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Act as a reliable payroll resource for employees, leaders, and business partners

• Support initiatives for continuous improvement

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field

• Over 6 years of experience in payroll and timekeeping or in accounting and finance

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Intermediate skills in Excel

• Experience with ADP Payroll software

• Understanding of accounting principles

• Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with lean methodologies

• Knowledge of tax principles

• Commitment to confidentiality

• Ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds

• Capability to maintain a stationary position (>75%) while using digital displays

• Frequent fine manipulation (>75%) using hands and fingers

• Remote positions must have a home office environment with minimal distractions
