
Senior Payroll Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Directly report to the Payroll Manager.
• Manage the complete payroll accounting processes for designated regions.
• Prepare journal entries related to payroll, perform account reconciliations, handle accruals, and conduct variance analyses.
• Create monthly journal entries and assist in balance sheet reconciliations for payroll accounts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders regarding payroll payment activities.
• Process and reconcile invoices associated with payroll.
• Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly cash forecasting reports, along with other payroll-related documents.
• Maintain and verify payroll pay code mappings to general ledger accounts.
• Support payroll and statutory audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
• Create ad hoc reports and analyses as needed.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly payroll metrics and reporting.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or Business Administration.
• 3–6 years of pertinent experience.
• Proven knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
• Proficient in multi-country payroll systems such as CloudPay or ADP.
• Skilled in ERP accounting systems like NetSuite.
• Experience in conducting payroll audits and preparing documentation for internal/external auditors.
• Basic understanding of US GAAP.
• Ability to implement accounting principles in payroll journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Must be a resident of Penang and work remotely from Penang.
