Senior Payment Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute intricate account reconciliations and lead the resolution of high-priority discrepancies.

• Manage escalated chargeback disputes, reversals, and adjustment requests with minimal oversight.

• Offer expertise in ACH and Check 21 return processes while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

• Detect trends in failed payments and settlement distributions, implementing effective solutions.

• Collaborate with clients, banking partners, and internal stakeholders on critical or sensitive matters.

• Contribute to process enhancements that improve the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of payment operations.

• Mentor and train junior team members.

• Independently resolve complex reconciliations, chargebacks, and adjustment cases.

• Handle escalated payment issues and client inquiries using sound judgment and initiative.

• Communicate with both external and internal stakeholders on high-impact issues.

• Act as an informal team leader and support cross-functional initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• 4–6 years of relevant experience in banking, payment processing, or accounting.

• Extensive knowledge of banking operations, payment processing workflows, and accounting principles.

• Advanced skills in spreadsheets, reporting, and data analysis tools.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a knack for anticipating risks.

• Excellent communication skills and experience handling escalated client or partner issues.

• Proven capability to juggle multiple priorities while leading or supporting projects.

• Demonstrated leadership qualities, including mentoring and training team members.

• Proven experience with credit card chargebacks, ACH, Check 21, and international payments.

• Familiarity with SQL or other query/reporting tools is preferred.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage workload efficiently.

• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

• Proficiency in using company-approved GenAI tools and crafting clear, context-rich prompts.

• Ability to audit AI outputs for factual accuracy, brand alignment, and hallucinations.

• Capability to safeguard proprietary and personally identifiable information from unauthorized models.
