Senior Outsourced Payroll Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Ensure the accuracy of client payroll information within their designated payroll system and address any discrepancies that arise.

• Review and/or process payrolls to adhere to client deadlines, including updating employee records, calculating and disbursing bonuses or severance, reviewing federal and state income tax calculations, and reconciling payroll deposits, tax withholdings, and wage garnishments.

• Generate reports detailing employee earnings, taxes, deductions, and employer contributions for social security and unemployment.

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, providing consultation on payroll-related issues.

• Uphold the confidentiality of employee data at all times.

• Communicate detailed information effectively through both written and verbal methods.

• Offer technical software support to clients as needed.

• Identify and document out-of-scope work and potential new service opportunities.

• Assist implementation teams as required.

• Conduct interviews with clients to understand their payroll requirements.

• Oversee new client implementation projects to ensure they are completed in a timely manner and meet client satisfaction.

• Provide training to clients on payroll processes.

• Act as a resource for new or less experienced staff members and offer timely feedback.

• Share insights and lessons learned to enhance team capabilities.

• Research and maintain knowledge of ADP software platforms.

• Stay informed about current local, state, and federal practices and regulations.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant payroll experience is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.

• Experience with ADP RUN software and familiarity with implementation processes is necessary.

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and the Office Suite.

• Must be highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.

• Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.

• Must demonstrate adaptability and the ability to multitask effectively.

• Capability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment while serving multiple clients.

• Commitment to providing exceptional client service.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must communicate professionally with individuals at all levels.

• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes.

• Willingness to learn from experiences and integrate new knowledge and skills into daily work, sharing insights with colleagues as appropriate.
