Senior Oracle Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute software design, development, enhancement, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance for DMAPS and associated applications.

• Create, sustain, and optimize Oracle PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and SQL queries.

• Design and maintain software applications and services utilizing Java and C++.

• Operate within an Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), encompassing two- to three-week sprints, daily scrums, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Employ sprint tracking and collaboration tools to monitor and communicate work activities and progress.

• Develop secure, reliable, and resilient applications and services.

• Refactor or re-host existing applications while creating new functionalities.

• Assist in system architecture and software solution design.

• Diagnose application and database issues in Oracle environments.

• Develop and maintain software operating in RHEL environments.

• Create and sustain Unix/Linux shell scripts and automation scripts.

• Utilize Git and version-control practices for software development and configuration management.

• Engage in software testing, debugging, code reviews, and deployment tasks.

• Facilitate application modernization, migration, and integration.

• Monitor and troubleshoot applications, services, logs, and system performance.

• Collaborate with developers, system administrators, architects, and the AFMC PMO.

• Support cybersecurity, vulnerability remediation, code scanning, and information assurance requirements.

• Assist with technical, system design, and software development documentation.

• Provide technical support to the development team and help maintain a stable, secure operational environment.

• Carry out other software development and engineering tasks as directed by the Government.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

• Over 10 years of experience in software/system design and development.

• Extensive experience in developing and supporting applications in Oracle database environments.

• Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL development.

• Strong experience in Java development.

• Strong experience in C++ development.

• Significant experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

• Familiarity with Oracle Database environments.

• Experience working within an Agile SDLC framework, including two- to three-week sprints and daily scrums.

• Proficient in Git and version control management.

• Experience in software development and/or system design in secure, reliable, and resilient environments.

• Knowledge of SQL and Unix/Linux shell scripting.

• Ability to work independently and support a software development team.

• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Must be eligible to obtain U.S. Government security clearance.

• Desired: Experience with PowerBuilder, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, GNU Make, Jenkins DSL, JSON, YAML, Go, Jenkins, Terraform, Packer, Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, Artifactory, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPS/HTTP Server, JIRA, Bitbucket, Checkmarx, SonarQube, cybersecurity or DoD software development/testing, legacy application modernization, software refactoring, application re-hosting, or application modernization.
