This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Administer, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise Oracle database environments.
• Create, configure, and oversee standalone Oracle databases.
• Provide support for Oracle Grid environments along with associated high-availability technologies.
• Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes utilizing Oracle RMAN.
• Execute database installations, upgrades, maintenance, and software patching.
• Uphold and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery capabilities.
• Diagnose and address database, server, application integration, and performance issues.
• Conduct advanced database and SQL performance tuning, including optimizer and storage-level troubleshooting.
• Develop and sustain database scripts and automation, including PL/SQL.
• Formulate and maintain strategies for database backup, restore, recovery, and point-in-time recovery.
• Establish and uphold standards for database configuration, performance, security, and operations.
• Monitor database health, capacity, and performance while proactively identifying potential issues.
• Support database monitoring and alerting functions using enterprise monitoring tools.
• Respond to incidents, service requests, and Requests for Change (RFCs).
• Document troubleshooting processes, maintenance activities, configuration changes, and support efforts.
• Provide technical leadership during complex incidents and root cause analysis.
• Work both independently and collaboratively with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other technical teams.
• Effectively communicate technical information to technical staff, management, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance activities, such as patching, server reboots, and other database/server support tasks.
• Contribute to the required weekly activity and accomplishment reports.
• Over 8 years of experience in database administration and related database disciplines.
• Proficient in advanced Oracle database administration.
• Experience with Oracle Database.
• Familiarity with Oracle Grid.
• Proficient in Oracle RMAN.
• Skilled in PL/SQL.
• Knowledgeable in backup and recovery processes.
• Expertise in database performance tuning.
• Experienced in database patching and maintenance.
• Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery practices.
• Proficient in database monitoring and alerting.
• Knowledge of security and auditing practices.
• Experienced in incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Proven experience administering databases in enterprise production environments.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of cross-functional technical teams.
