This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +1 more country.
β’ Take charge of the platform architecture encompassing control plane, compute, storage, and network, including the high availability model and resource sizing.
β’ Create High-Level Design, Low-Level Design, as-built documentation, and operational runbooks.
β’ Implement and upgrade the platform using Kolla-Ansible, with configurations managed as code in Git.
β’ Incorporate storage, networking, identity, and load balancing utilizing Cinder, OVN, Open vSwitch, Keystone with OIDC federation, Octavia, and Barbican.
β’ Establish metrics and logging, integrating the platform with the client ServiceNow CMDB.
β’ Conduct technical workshops, design reviews, and acceptance testing alongside client representatives.
β’ Serve as the third line of escalation for managed platforms and spearhead root cause analysis.
β’ Assist in pre-sales efforts as a technical authority.
β’ Offer technical support and guidance to engineers within the team.
β’ Minimum of 6 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, or cloud platforms, including 3 years working with OpenStack in a production environment.
β’ Proven experience in designing OpenStack architecture, having completed at least one full implementation from design to production handover.
β’ Strong proficiency with Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Cinder, Placement, Horizon, Octavia, and Barbican.
β’ Experience in deploying and upgrading with Kolla-Ansible, including playbook customization and managing the containerized service lifecycle.
β’ Advanced Linux administration skills, along with KVM and libvirt virtualization knowledge, and familiarity with container runtimes like Docker.
β’ Troubleshooting expertise in MariaDB or Galera, RabbitMQ, HAProxy, Keepalived, Redis, and Memcached.
β’ Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts: OVN and Open vSwitch, GENEVE or VXLAN overlays, VLAN provider networks, NAT, and floating IP addresses.
β’ Proficiency in English at C1 level, enabling independent facilitation of technical workshops and design reviews with client architects.
β’ Experience with VMware exit and migration initiatives towards OpenStack, including migration tools and wave planning.
β’ Integration experience with enterprise storage through Cinder drivers, such as NetApp ONTAP over NFS or Ceph.
β’ Familiarity with telco workloads on OpenStack, including SR-IOV, DPDK, CPU pinning, huge pages, and NUMA-aware scheduling.
β’ Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu, Kubernetes on OpenStack, or GPU-enabled compute nodes.
β’ Knowledge of ServiceNow, especially ITOM Discovery and the CMDB model, or experience within an ITIL-based service framework.
β’ Understanding of sovereign cloud regulatory requirements in the public sector and financial services.
