Senior Network Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, implementation, and governance of secure enterprise network infrastructures.

• Architect, implement, and sustain network infrastructures in compliance with enterprise and CMMC Level 2 standards.

• Design and manage firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, micro-segmentation, and encryption measures.

• Redesign network infrastructure to support scalability and future growth.

• Ensure proper VLAN segmentation and alignment with zero-trust principles.

• Conduct daily monitoring of network health and identify zero-day vulnerabilities.

• Analyze network traffic, recognize threats, and lead incident response efforts.

• Develop and enforce security protocols consistent with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC guidelines.

• Facilitate secure cloud connectivity and hybrid architecture solutions.

• Lead upgrades and design Wi-Fi infrastructure.

• Assist with office buildouts.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and spearhead implementation initiatives.

• Occasionally travel to offices across the United States for project-related tasks.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Over 10 years of experience.

• Ability to obtain a security clearance.

• Relevant certifications in enterprise networking and firewall technologies.

• Preferred: Secret clearance.

• Preferred certifications: CCNP, GIAC, CEH, or CMMC.

• Experience with secure enterprise network infrastructure in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid settings.

• Familiarity with CMMC Level 2 and NIST SP 800-171 requirements.

• Proficiency with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, micro-segmentation, and encryption controls.

• Experience with VLAN segmentation and adherence to zero-trust frameworks.

• Background in network monitoring, threat detection, zero-day vulnerabilities, and incident response.

• Knowledge of secure cloud connectivity and hybrid architectures.

• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving capabilities.

• Capacity to manage complex, compliance-driven projects.

• Ability to document environments and maintain up-to-date records.

• Willingness to travel to offices across the U.S. for project-related work.
