This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Design, manage, and troubleshoot industrial network infrastructure while ensuring secure connectivity across manufacturing facilities, corporate systems, and remote installations.
• Deploy and manage OT servers, industrial computers, and networking equipment that support Ignition, historians, databases, and associated services.
• Establish and oversee secure access to remote sites for troubleshooting and maintenance, including controls for employee and vendor access.
• Implement OT cybersecurity measures, which include network segmentation, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response protocols.
• Ensure system reliability through continuous monitoring, coordinated patching, lifecycle planning, and validated backup and recovery procedures.
• Support industrial communications and manufacturing data connectivity, including Allen-Bradley/EtherNet/IP networks, MQTT, and cloud services.
• Set infrastructure standards and documentation, coordinate vendor and site deployments, and act as the technical escalation point for OT infrastructure challenges.
• Monitor network performance and identify potential improvements to enhance reliability and operational efficiency.
• Diagnose connectivity, latency, intermittent communications, and network performance issues that impact production systems.
• Own the manufacturing infrastructure and collaborate with the controls team, which is responsible for PLC programming and SCADA application development.
• Work closely with Controls Engineering, Operations, corporate IT, and external service providers.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in networking, systems administration, or OT infrastructure, particularly in industrial settings.
• An associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, networking, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent level of practical experience.
• In-depth knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and Windows server administration.
• Experience in supporting infrastructure for PLCs, SCADA, and other systems critical to production.
• Familiarity with OT segmentation, industrial cybersecurity, secure remote access, and backup and recovery practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and collaborative skills.
• Preferred experience with Allen-Bradley control systems and EtherNet/IP networks, Ignition, IXON, EWON, Microsoft Azure, MQTT, OPC-UA, and PostgreSQL.
• Willingness to travel (10%) and provide occasional support outside of standard business hours for site deployments, maintenance, and critical issues.
