This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Deliver Tier 3 technical support for enterprise SD-WAN and related network infrastructure.
β’ Act as a senior escalation resource for issues that remain unresolved by Tier 1/Tier 2 support.
β’ Diagnose intricate routing, switching, SD-WAN, WAN connectivity, VPN, firewall, and network-performance challenges.
β’ Provide support for Cisco routers, switches, SD-WAN controllers, and other enterprise network components.
β’ Conduct root-cause analysis and devise corrective measures for recurring or systemic problems.
β’ Aid in the installation, activation, validation, and transition to operations for newly deployed shore and cutter sites.
β’ Collaborate with provisioning and integration engineers to address configuration and deployment discrepancies.
β’ Validate configurations, routing behavior, connectivity, performance, and operational readiness.
β’ Assist in incident, problem, and change-management activities while maintaining precise technical records.
β’ Create troubleshooting procedures, knowledge articles, escalation protocols, and lessons learned documentation.
β’ Provide constructive feedback to architecture and automation teams for engineering and automation enhancements.
β’ Help with configuration modifications, software updates, patching, STIG remediation, and authorized maintenance tasks.
β’ Coordinate with Government technical leads, cybersecurity personnel, field technicians, vendors, and contractors during troubleshooting and restoration efforts.
β’ Support operational metrics, ticket trends, backlog management, and the identification of systemic network vulnerabilities.
β’ Engage in technical reviews, incident calls, deployment readiness assessments, and post-installation validation processes.
β’ Over 8 years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering, including senior-level enterprise network operations or Tier 3 support.
β’ Strong practical experience with Cisco enterprise routing and switching technologies.
β’ Proven expertise in troubleshooting complex Layer 2/Layer 3 network issues.
β’ In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and enterprise WAN architectures.
β’ Experience in supporting extensive, distributed enterprise networks.
β’ Proficient in performing advanced troubleshooting, packet analysis, root-cause analysis, and technical remediation.
β’ Ability to interpret network diagrams, configurations, logs, monitoring data, and engineering documentation.
β’ Familiarity with formal incident, change, configuration, and problem-management processes.
β’ Strong technical documentation and customer communication capabilities.
β’ Capacity to work independently while collaborating across multiple engineering and operational teams.
β’ Active Secret clearance is required.
β’ Preferred: Experience with Cisco SD-WAN/Viptela.
β’ Preferred: Familiarity with Cisco Catalyst 8000/8300-series routing platforms and Catalyst switching.
β’ Preferred: Knowledge of Cisco ISE, Zero Trust Network Access, network segmentation, or microsegmentation.
β’ Preferred: Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center, ThousandEyes, Splunk, SolarWinds, or similar network-monitoring and observability platforms.
β’ Preferred: Understanding of network automation using Ansible/Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Python, APIs, or similar technologies.
β’ Preferred: Experience supporting DoD, DHS, or another large federal enterprise environment.
β’ Preferred: Familiarity with DISA STIGs, cybersecurity compliance, and federal network security requirements.
β’ Preferred: CCNP Enterprise or equivalent demonstrated technical expertise; CCIE is highly desirable.
β’ Preferred: Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140/8570-aligned certification.
