This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +8 more states.
• Act as a senior technical and client-facing expert in complex data center projects.
• Collaborate with business leaders to provide services that align with company goals and the Winning Together values.
• Identify and engage potential clients for new business opportunities.
• Cultivate relationships with current clients to foster repeat business.
• Ensure consistent communication with clients, conduct regular site visits, and guarantee client satisfaction.
• Define project scope, budgets, and timelines in coordination with clients and management.
• Create business proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), reports, functional and technical specifications, estimates, and solution recommendations.
• Negotiate terms and conditions of projects with clients.
• Execute product development strategies to address future client requirements.
• Recognize project risks and challenges and formulate resolution strategies.
• Schedule client meetings, handle invoices, and review engagement contracts.
• Deliver project training to clients.
• Discover business opportunities and convert them into actionable projects.
• Organize and oversee multiple projects effectively.
• Monitor project progress, address delays, and communicate project status to clients.
• Serve as a Fiber Subject Matter Expert for hyperscale data center design, deployment, commissioning, and remediation.
• Lead and evaluate structured cabling and optical fiber designs, including backbone, horizontal, inter-rack, and high-density connectivity architectures.
• Offer technical guidance on single-mode and multimode fiber systems, MPO/MTP and LC connectivity, polarity, loss budgets, pathway planning, labeling, and cable management.
• Validate fiber infrastructure against BICSI, TIA, ISO/IEC, and customer-specific data center standards.
• Develop and assess fiber test plans, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), acceptance criteria, and quality-control processes.
• Provide expertise in Tier 1 and Tier 2 fiber testing, optical loss testing, polarity/continuity validation, OTDR analysis, inspection/cleanliness, and troubleshooting of failed links.
• Analyze fiber test results and field conditions, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and resolve installation and performance issues.
• Provide technical leadership to project engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and customer teams.
• Review drawings, bills of material, fiber matrices, port maps, test documentation, and as-built records.
• Assist in client design reviews, technical workshops, proposals, SOW development, estimating, and solution recommendations.
• Uphold and promote Computacenter’s mission and core values.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• At least five (5) years of hands-on experience with fiber infrastructure in hyperscale data center settings.
• Current BICSI Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC) certification is mandatory.
• Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is essential.
• Proven experience in high-density fiber design, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation within large-scale mission-critical environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis in complex, high-volume fiber environments.
• Capability to establish standards, best practices, installation procedures, testing methods, and acceptance criteria for large-scale fiber deployments.
• Proficient in interpreting data center drawings, fiber matrices, cable schedules, rack elevations, port maps, and test reports.
• Skilled in using fiber inspection and testing equipment, including optical loss test sets (OLTS), optical power meters/light sources, and OTDR platforms.
• Strong understanding of fiber types, connector systems, MPO/MTP polarity methods, optical budgets, insertion loss, reflectance, and link performance requirements.
• Expert knowledge of hyperscale data center fiber infrastructure and structured cabling systems.
• Ability to take ownership of queries and manage them to prompt resolution.
• Creative and analytical thinker with a problem-solving mindset.
• Credible and capable professional, recognized as an expert in the field.
• Extensive understanding of the business advantages that technical solutions can deliver.
• Experience working with and influencing multi-tier management.
• Solid working knowledge of relevant functional systems.
• History of developing best-practice policies and procedures within a functional area.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to present effectively in group settings.
• Preferably possesses a strong familiarity with computer system applications including Windows, Microsoft Office, OSX, and Salesforce.
